To a thinking person the answer to this question is simple. But many have confused what happened to Jesus in the garden before His death. Joseph Price got it wrong (recent TV broadcast).... the Latter-Day Saints have it wrong, and I'm guessing others have missed it as well.
Here is the passage in question: DOCTOR Luke says this in chapter 22, verse 44.
Now the answer to this riddle is simple when we give a parallel statement: Your eyes are like pools of deep water. Let's see...are we describing someone's eyes, or are we describing pools of water? If it was pools of water, we would say "Your pools are like eyes." So read it again. The New American Standard Version (known for its accuracy) says his sweat became LIKE drops of blood.
What difference does it make? The CROSS is supposed to be our focus! Paul said in Gal. 6:14 "God forbid that I should glory, save in the CROSS of our Lord Jesus Christ...." It isn't a major issue, but it is worth getting right! The Latter-day Saints (in Gospel Principles) state that Christ bled from EVERY PORE in the garden. I'd say that if that happened He would have died on the spot. Perhaps someone who knows how many pores...and how many drops of blood that would mean, can tell me if my guess is right. I LOVE focusing on the cross because that's what Paul did.
